Motunau Beach Trip - New Zealand
Last Friday the school my two sons attend had a day trip to Motunau Beach. (Pronouced Mot-tu-now). Its a beautiful place off the East Coast of the South Island situated in the Hurunui District in New Zealand. Only 1 hours drive from where we live. The small village is surrounded in farm land and there is houses on the steep hill side which have an amazing coast line view. Part of the view is Motunau Island which is now a reserve and breeding island for little blue penguins. (pictured left). The children had a great time exploring rock pools with crabs, shell fish and beautiful sea weed. They also built some amazing sand castles. It was a lovely day - another day in our New Zealand paradise.

Beautiful! It could almost be the Oregon Coast (where I grew up), except for being able to wear shorts in the water!
Stopping by to follow you from MBC!
I love coming to your site. The pictures are beautiful.
Well that was a nice post. I liked it.
